I would always ride the wave for as long as I could. Sometimes it worked a little too well and my parents wouldn't put me to bed until well after midnight 💀
I read a few comments from parents, though, basically saying "We knew. We would just let you have it if you'd been extra good that day. And if you weren't, then we'd honor the promise."
