Counterpoint, Matthew 5:17
“‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them”
Those words were said by Jesus Christ during the sermon on the mount. He is saying that he has NOT come to abolish the Law, therefore including the laws of Leviticus. If he has not abolished the laws, then the ceremonial laws like no shaving your beard and circumcising your children should still apply, and therefore a vast, VAST majority of Christians are committing sins that they aren’t asking for forgiveness for. If those laws truly don’t apply to Christians anymore, then that’s to say what Jesus said was incorrect, and the whole religion falls apart. No matter how you interpret it, what Christians have become goes against the Bible and therefore I claim them hypocrites.
