The only reason those “hardcore Christian’s” think that (as to what I believe) is because they have seen implications of hentai and forever link it to anime

Warning: This is a very long, angry comment rant about a thing agreeing to your opinion that has stuck with me half my life.

When I was about eight years old, my dad introduced me and my brother to this anime called Flint The Time Detective. (Now that I look back on it I wasn't really grasping half of it but if I watched it again now it would be amazing.) I don't remember a lot of it, but the main gist is this caveman child in the present day traveling through time with a scientist and some kids to save these lil creatures that turn into monsters from some other guys.

My brother asked my very VERY Christian grandmother if she wanted to watch with us. The first thing out of her mouth was, "Is it one of those Japanese anime? If it is, I won't watch it." She searches it up, and the results page says it's an anime. She says, "See? It's says it's an anime, I can't watch it with you." I ask why (keep in mind I've seen a few anime at this point—a few Pokémon ones, the original Digimon, which is arguably better than Pokémon, and this one I am ranting about) and she says (probably not exactly but something along the lines of) "It's violent and it has blood and monsters, scary, devilish things that pollute your soul, I didn't raise your father on this but he's a man and he makes his own decisions now even though I don't like them. If I were your parents, you would have never heard of this." Yes, she would say those things when I was eight and my brother was

...six or seven. Anyway, we say it's not violent, and they're only monsters for a little while, and she decides to watch one episode. At the end, she is SCOWLING and shaking her head as the credits roll. She said something like "No, I can't watch it, it's too monstrous." Fun little tidbit for you. This is a children's show. An anime made for children. It is essentially a cartoon made in Japan. (Not saying anime is a cartoon.)

This grandmother also says that:
Pokémon and Yo-Kai Watch are devilish, because Pokémon has animals with "magic powers like wichcraft" and Yo-Kai Watch has "ghosts."
Lighting candles for the dead as they do in the Catholic church is necromancy. Let's agree to not show her a rendition of an ACTUAL necromancer, one that revives the dead.
Gay, trans, non-binary, gender fluid, lesbian, ace, aroace, basically anything but straight? S I N. She hasn't yet said the actual words because she thinks we're too young to "hear the atrocious, anti-god agendas of the world" which is bullsh*t.
Once, as a small child, I picked up a Harry Potter book from the library we used to go to. The second I brought it to the table she said not to read it, it's about witchcraft and it has magic which isn't godly so I can't read it. She has had a vendetta about Harry Potter ever since. She refuses to say the full name and calls it HP.
She WON'T SAY MY OLDER SISTERS NAME. Maybe it's the dyed hair, maybe the interest in Harry Potter, maybe it's the previous girlfriend (I think my sister is bi) but she simply will not.
On the subject of names, she won't say "Kamala Harris" and supports Trump to the end. She watched his inauguration ALL DAY. She DESPISES the entire PARTY she's on.

Oh! I almost forgot! I can't play Hollow Knight in from of her because I used Jiji the Summoner to summon my shade and it "looks like a ritual." I also lied to her about the story of Nine Sols, I completely left out the human decapitation and killing the Sols. She doesn't know about most of the other games I play. If she found Danganronpa, I'd be dead. I made a board game for school once, but the amon focus was magic and dragons, so I try to keep it out of sight from her at all times. I was reading in her room once and she said "please don't bring down a dragon book or The Hobbit or any book I wouldn't like" and I spent fifteen minutes looking for one because I like fantasy. I read wings of fire, and one time for my birthday dad got me the Inheritance Cycle series. I then had to explain Wings of Fire while avoiding the massacres, NightWings, and animus powers. Also 90% of Darkstalker.

This is slowly becoming a rant about how much I dislike my grandmother.

Some stuff I overlooked! I showed her a trailer for Stray because she thought she wouldn't like the game where you are a cat with a lil robot about a year after release because we were waiting for a sale, and she pointed out specifically the prison-break and said "See, shooting, I had a bad feeling about this game" (note that it's the guard robots that hover and shoot you if they see you).

She's a substitute teacher in my school. Not only is she very openly homophobic, she once refused to teach a class on Greek mythology and COMPLAINED TO THE PRINICPAL ABOUT THE CLASS SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO TEACH, which should have gotten her fired, and afterwards acted like she was being all heroic by risking her ability to pay rent in not acknowledging another religion. Also, teachers are not allowed under any circumstance to discuss their religion. If you're Muslim, don't say to your students, "You should be Muslim. Here's why," any situations like that. Just guess what she does. Guess.

ALSO. She refuses to refer to a non-Christian religion with the word religion. Or faith. She calls them beliefs. She has said that, in the event of a fire, she would loudly yell to pray to "the one true god to be saved" not caring for anyone else's religion. When I said that I respected people's beliefs, she got TRIGGERED.

She makes me and my brother read Bible studies every time we go downstairs to her part of the house. Without fail. We are not allowed to sit in any position that is not perfectly straight while reading them. The reasoning is, "You're in school, god is as important as school. You wouldn't slouch in school." NEWS FLASH. I do slouch in school because my posture is sh*t and I have scoliosis. She knows this.
