DEI was a completely worthless thing anyway. Hire someone who is qualified, regardless of irrelevant factors like skin color or whatever gender they say they have.

Not really sad to see a useless job get removed.
There is no need to spend money diversifying the employees in the government. Jobs should be purely skill-based.

Companies who used DEI properly still found skilled employees among POC and marginalized groups

I know trump wants to make it a meritocracy but segregation is wrong

“Companies who used DEI properly”
DEI is NEVER proper. Excluding those on the basis of race will ALWAYS be bad.

As a straight Indian male I fit zero DEI categories, so DEI doesn't help me personally.
But I don't see what's wrong with giving people from oppressed groups a slight advantage.

Accommodating for "equality" just results in more inequality due to unequal treatment.

This is a hypothetical scenario, just for thought.

Imagine you're a hiring manager at a company where the majority of workers are white. You have to choose between two men who applied, one is white and one is black. They both have the same merit and skills and perform equally well in the interview round. Who do you choose?

Then it literally doesn't matter. On a side note, no group is significantly oppressed in society (or in a way that is even quantifiable), so correcting for that sort of thing does not even matter.

I get what you're saying but I have to respectfully disagree. Even if segregation is gone, its aftereffects still linger because white and Asian communities generally have more generational wealth, education, and safety than Hispanic and black communities. The wealth gap is starting to close in some areas though.

If segregation didn't exist, workplaces would be diverse enough to not need DEI programs.
