The thing with communist nations is that the whole ideology OBLIGATES lies about its situation.
A collective only works as long as people think it accomplishes more than the individual (and it almost never does..) so they have to actively downplay the qualities of individualist nations and fabricate the situation of theirs..
This is why you get half the liberals thinking China is this modern futuristic society that ended poverty...
