In a part of Toronto there's a small suburban neighborhood named "Scarborough". The year is 2008 and many memories are being made. Families buying houses, young adults having the parties of their lives, and a couple that will find fame and something my much more valuable as well.
It starts at the house on 1345 Saint-Peters street where a 4'10 hourglass shaped 16 year old girl with black hair arrived at her new house. She had made it in team Canada's world Juniors women's team. With that she had to move to Toronto for practice away from her home in Ottawa. After a long drive she's at her new home, away from friends, away from her life, away from happiness. This girl is Cecil. Cecil Maccanine is getting ready to start a new life. Up the street is a boy who grew up here his entire life. He's a 16 5'11 angsty medium length brown haired, skater punk currently wearing some baggy black jeans and a sum 41 T-shirt. This boy is Jean. Jean Lafontaine may sound like a Quebec name but he was born and raised here in Scarborough.
Fast forward a month, Cecil has a boyfriend and Jean's band isn't doing great. He meets up with his members Luigi the drummer, Larry the bassist, Ron the singer and chord guitarist with Jean as the lead guitar. In the park at the fountain they start talking about money shortages and how they'll need to get part time jobs to fund small shows. Their band Cel 32 has amassed a decent following with a song being number 674 in the entire world but that isn't much.
-- Alright guys so if we all work at the same place we might not get any time to record songs. Says Larry
-- Yeah, says Ron. I say me and Jean work at the Tim Hortons near Sam the record man and you both work at Starbucks
