I do have a bit of a different idea for Hivestrider though. I'm thinking it could just be the hive, using the leaves as wings, and it spawns bee/wasp enemies
Fun fact: Mukky is the only normal enemy to appear in the Glade of Misdirection. There's an all grey version called a __ that acts as Will's phobia boss (the one really high in the trees)
Yes, very likely
What if Handsies held up Mukkies with their tail, making them aerial enemies for a few turns (unless you kill the Handsy, which makes Mukky fall and take some damage)
I'm in the mood to draw some enemies now
Also Handsy is very similar to an enemy idea I had called Mukky, it's a cute little eyeless monkey whose main attack is spitting stuff at you that inflicts statuses
Hivestrider is a hive that moves by wind pushing on the leaves like sails. Even wasps have to adopt new mannerisms in this rainforest.
When making Handsy, I was wanting to do something with monkeys, and then I thought about how many hands they have. So I made a Monkey that was all hands. If this isn't good, I could just make a monkey that's a banana.
Like let's take Hiveglider for example
It's a beehive, which is fitting for the dense rainforests of Tropiclock Island
But it also has eyes
And flies using leaves as wings
over the span of a few turns
Mukky will start spitting into Handsy's hands
so it's hanging onto some spit
then, at one turn, the Mukky spits at the crew and Handsy tosses the stored spit
which barrages the crew
It's just a living beehive, it spawns in enemies called Beebles
I don't want any of the enemies to be too realistic or possible
I wanna be as weird as I can with the enemies, because that's what my inspirations did
In my opinion, the weirder, the better
Like in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, there's this enemy that is an erlenmeyer flask with eyes and a grass skirt and it holds two torches
I don't know who came up with this or what substances they were using but it's amazing
he instantly dies because he tries to muster a huge spit blast and then chokes and dies
and then you get a bar of soap
that slips out of your inventory when you take a few steps
I like this but it's starting to get a bit too in-depth for a basic enemy. Also I like to keep enemy variety in each area limited to around 4-6 different enemy types, so three different versions of one enemy would kinda clog up the works and take up a bunch of spots
