It was over… He was finally dead… Matt sat down on the pavement as his eyes turned back to his usual black color. The red aura around him earlier is completely gone. He took some time to catch his breath before chuckling to himself. He then looked up to the sky and shot a thumbs up, assuming the rest were watching. And they were! In the underworld, everyone was cheering and hugging. The nightmare was finally over.
Alt Linda: Y-your dad is kind of scary… b-but he did it!
Rose: Of course! We told you!
Petals: He’s the strongest!
Aella looks proudly, with a smirk on her face.
Alt Aella: I told you my calculations would be correct.
Alt Apsogos: …you got me there…
Venus hugs Medea from behind as the two laugh together
Venus: WE DID IT! WE DID IT!
Medea: I know I know! Get off me, you idiot!
Fox stands next to Peresphone and they glance at each other.
Alt Fox: …I guess we should send them home and start rebuilding.
Persephone: indeed.
A couple hours later, Matt walks back in and is tackled by Rose and Petals.
Rose: Dad!!! You did it!!
Matt: Hey you two…
Petals: Father? Why didn’t Mars blow up like that lady?
Matt: huh…? Oh I’m not really into that… so I made sure that last punch did a crap ton of internal damage though… his insides are just mush now…
Rose: …ew… but cool!
Matt: Oh yeah.
He kneels down next to them
Matt: …promise me you won’t do what I did unless absolutely necessary… okay?
Rose and Petals: Got it!
Matt atta girls!
He pats them both on the head as Aella comes into the room.
Alt Aella: There he is! My child is a hero!
Matt: mom! I mean… not really my mom…
Alt Aella: You know what I mean. I got your daughter some new goggles and made her able to reform after breaking thanks to Medea’s magic! Might help if she uses her demon form again!
Petals: Oh yay!!!
Matt: alright… but I think we should head home… Violet is gonna be pissed…
Alt Aella: Oh of course! I’ll go set up the machine. You want to say some words to the rest?
Matt: Yeah sure. You two stay here
The kids nod as Matt walks off to the room where they were throwing a party. They all applaud for Matt who just scratches the back of his head nervously. First he walks up to Venus and Medea.
Matt: Hey, so uh… if you’re going to make a cafe, you should sell kebabs. I can tell you, they make your sales go way higher!
Venus and Medea nod to each other and bow respectfully to him. He then goes up to Apsogos and Linda, who was hiding behind her step father.
Alt Apsogos: Hey kid. Good job.

Matt: Well I’m just a chip off the old block, huh?
Apsogos laughs a bit and shakes his head.
Alt Apsogos: maybe in my prime, but not anymore… Linda? Do you have something to say?
Linda carefully stepped out from behind him… and noticed how plain and normal Matt looked… she took a deep breath, and hugged him.
Alt Linda: Thank you for helping us, brother!
Matt: Oh uh… no problem.
Alt Apsogos: Alright, Venus? Linda? You two are going to train more, and maybe you can be as strong as your brother so we don’t need to rely on him more, right?
Alt Venus and Alt Linda: SIR YES SIR!
Matt laughs a bit before moving on to Fox and shakes his hand.
Alt Fox: Nice fight you had there… you don’t even look damaged.
Matt: I mean… he didn’t hit me.
Alt Fox: yeah true… but is it true that you’re actually the strongest in your timeline?
Matt bursts out laughing and shakes his head
Matt: No! I know three people stronger than me! You, Eren, and… him…
Alt Fox: Me, huh? Are you sure about that?
Matt: Well yeah, but it’s obvious why you couldn’t do anything to Mars. He would have just attacked your soul.
Alt Fox: Hm. Good eye kid.
Alt Aella: Matt! The machine is ready!
Matt: Got it!
Alt Fox: Wait…
He gets up from his chair and tosses him a photo. Matt looks at it and smiles. It’s an old pic of Fox, Matt, and Eren, when the two were both kids.
Alt Fox: You can keep it. I’ll make sure this timeline will be safe for now on.
Matt nods and puts it in his pocket. He waves one last time to the alts and then steps on the machine with Rose and Petals.
Alt Aella: It was nice to see you again…
Matt: …it was nice to meet you.
And in a flash, they were gone. Matt looks around his house and smiles as he sits down on the couch with Rose and Petals.
Matt: Man… you two did great today, but next time tell me if you’re gonna do that again.
Rose: Yeah sorry dad… I wanted to surprise you
Matt: That's understandable… I’m gonna go check on your mother.
He says getting up and going to his room.
Matt: Alright, I’m back, Violet! You okay?
He opens the door and… empty…
Matt: …Violet?
