Encounter one. (4th part of my series)

Umbreon: *on a "vacation" from royal duties, fighting the forces of "order" and general shenanigans* oh goodie...

*it reads, "subject 005 it, otherwise known as living shadows. seem to have no stable form but is able to make one if needed. subject cannot kill anything as death doesn't really happen in this realm, however it will strip the flesh and muscle off of victims they catch. subject seems to act as the main threat to wanderers and actively reports to the entity. able to speak all languages. containment is near impossible since they are the literal shadows of this realm -T."*

U: hm. *copies some of the info into their own notebook*

???: disgusting thing. I am glad about what happened to him.

U: let me guess, you flayed him?

???: oh how I wish.

U: hm?

???: another person had that pleasure.

U: mm..

???: I'm sure you could find them if you looked.

U: Eh. not my business.

???: you sound like those pathetic scientists who tried to harness me....

U: trust me, I fight gagoos more powerful than you 8 times a week and end up getting high with half of them a month later.

???: I do not care. it is not like you can kill me.

U: cant I? *lightning flickers around their palms, but its strange, purple, the air stills, and smells of Ozone

???: nothing can die here.

U: samesies. so lets just agree not to smite eachother.

???; why are you in my realm. tell me that first.

U: call it a Vacation.

???: ......... is that really it?

U: I'm kinda meandering through everywhere.

???: *strange shuffling is heard from the shadows, it approaches closer but doesn't touch the asphalt bellow you*

U: no asphalt eh?

???: *a high pitched roar responds*

U: take that as a yes. *pulls out a notebook*

???: *some shadows creep onto the asphalt and the noises draw closer*

U: yeah yeah... lemmie get a good look at chya.

*you can faintly see two eyes boring into you. hateful eyes, spiteful eyes, eyes that want nothing more then to tear you apart.*

U: *pulls out a lantern*

*the shadows retreat from the lantern. not allowing you to see what hides within it*

U: averse to light... *writing, pulls out a UV flashlight instead*

???: very well.

U: well then, could you form a shape for me to sketch?

???: fine. *the shadows part slightly to show a blank purely black human made of shadows.*

U: *sketches it quickly*

???: finished?

U: yup.

???: good. *the form is engulfed back into the shadows*

???: fine. we shall not attempt to harm you.

U: *steps off the asphalt*

???; *the shadows part around you*

U: alright, give me something to draw.

???: *they take out a torn up notebook and toss it at you.*

U: fair enough. *opens it*

*It has only two pages in it. the first one has a single letter on it, T.*

U: huh?

???: it belongs to a disgusting man. he had a T in his name so his work was marked with it.

U: *looks at the second page*

*the UV light seems to physically cause small pain to the shadows, it writhes in pain as it retreats.*

U: I see. *writing more*

???: STEP INTO THE DARK. WE WILL NOT KILL YOU.

U: doubtful. I've died a lot, and that is probably the easiest to avoid.

???: *the shadows attempt to creep closer*

U: *tries an Infared light*

???: *it is able to quickly get close to you and is barely able to step onto the asphalt. the creature is still shrouded by shadows, it seems Infared can't pierce the shadows enough*

U: *frustrated* lets make a deal.

???: *it stops and waits to hear the offer*

U: you let me draw you and record info, and NOT kill me, and I wont unleash the unrivaled power of the sun on you, deal?
