Adolf Hitler Biography

Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, in Braunau am Inn, Austria. Hitler would grow up to be one of the most infamous leaders in the history of the entire world, as his actions left an impact on the world forever.
Long before he would become infamous, Hitler had a relatively normal life with his parents, having a strict father and a loving mother. After both his parents had passed around the beginning of 1908, Hitler moved to Vienna with hopes of becoming an artist and beginning a life for himself. This dream however didi not work out, as he failed multiple times when trying to get admission to the Academy of Fine Arts. During this time, however, Hitler would begin to get into politics and his character started to form, with his racial ideologies and influence of the anti-Semitic and nationalist sentiments in Vienna.
Then a big turning point came in his life following World War I, as he served as a corporal in the German army, where he was a beloved soldier for his bravery and heart to fight. However, he had a personal resentment towards the Treaty of Versailles, as it showcased the loss Germany suffered in the war. This Treaty is what fueled Hitler’s desire to take revenge.
Following WWI, Hitler would join the German Workers’ Party, which would later be known as the Nazi Party. He had incredible skills and leadership, which helped to elevate him to a higher position. He gave speeches discussing the state of Germany after the war, and making a promise to overturn the Versailles Treaty and restore Honor to Germany.
In 1923, Hitler would find himself in prison after attempting to seize power in the Beer Hall Putsch. While he was in prison, he wrote “Mein Kampf,” (Which translates to “My Struggle” in English), and in this autobiography, he discussed the vision he had for Germany and his plans to start a territorial expansion. During this time period, his leadership was made even sharper.
In 1929, the Great Depression would continue to beat down the already bad state of Germany, which laid the groundwork for Hitler to rise to power. He would brilliantly exploit the failing economy, political hardships and fear of communism to his advantage to work his way up the Nazi Party and position himself as the solution to Germany’s problems.
The Nazi Party only continued to grow in power, and in January of 1933, Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany.
