Calamity Chapter 5: All's well that ends well

Angel stared at Matt, who was floating in front of the towering One Zero… She then remembered she was supposed to be projecting this to the people outside. She quickly does hand movement and creates a screen outside of Matt’s body to show what's happening.
Angel: Guys, are you seeing this?
Everyone outside looks at the projection and nods.
Fox: yeah we see it! What’s going on?
Angel: Hey you guys are probably saying something, but the audio only goes one way so…
Fox: Yeah okay that makes sense…
Eren stares at the screen and see’s Matt floating there.
Eren: Holy shit-
Fox: What?
Eren: Hey guys come look at this!
She motions over Spark, Violet, and Mercury. Once their eyes lay on Matt, they realized what he’s done and beam with joy.
Spark: Man… that takes me back… Hey you think Violet can still do it?
Violet: Maybe… but I doubt it’s going to be as strong… What about you, Mercury?
Mercury nods in response. Fox walks up to them confused.
Fox: Sorry can someone fill me in?
Eren: Oh so basically, I did this thing a long time ago where I shot Matt and I made him able to access 120% of his power… I also did it to Violet and Mercury, but we long left it behind… until now that is…
Back in the fight, Matt was doing some stretches before the fight started as One Zero continued to power up.
Matt: Alright… ready to fight. You?
One Zero finishes powering up as more debris continues to rise.
One Zero: Indeed…
Matt: Okay then… Come at me!
One Zero appears down on a building in his “Physical form”. A tall slender bald man, with a gaping hole in his chest filled with eyes. His yellow eyes glowing in the darkness as he smiles with his pointed teeth. He holds up one hand as the buildings around them stretch and contort towards Matt, trying to smash him into the buildings… but Matt simply flies around them and towards One Zero and is about to land a punch but he teleports away. Matt looks around but can’t find him until the being made from static appears in the form of a snake and wraps himself around his neck, starting to choke him. Matt tried to speak but, like I said before, he was getting choked.
One Zero: My my… those are some dreadfully boring last words…
Matt powers down to only 100% as he struggles to breathe, making One Zero think that he’s winning until… he bursts back into 120% to blast One Zero away, who fades out of sight. Matt feels his neck as he smiles

Matt: That was close… if I was one percent off, I would have actually died there.. What is it with people choking me?
Matt looks around until a hand grabs his leg and drags him to the ground… he looks down and sees a horde of fake people, their eyes melting, with their skin glitching in and out of sight. As Matt gets closer, he hears them pleading that they don’t want to die… Those must be his past victims… he thought to himself… his thoughts are interrupted by the people melting together into a giant arm, sending Matt crashing down into the surface. He jumps back up but the arm turns into a fist and prepares to crash down on him. Matt, with Ares armor, clenches his fist and starts to punch it rapidly, causing it to break down into the previous victims until there was nothing left but a pile of lifeless bodies on the ground… Then suddenly, One Zero appears again and tries to punch Matt, but he blocks the attack with one hand.
Matt: So that's how you work… You’re not physically strong, are you?
He says as he jumps, spins around, and kicks One Zero into the air as he starts to fade out of sight again, but Matt stomps on the ground with Ares armor, causing him to spring up and grab him before he disappears. Not this time… he then slams him straight into the ground, starts running, jumps to the side and slams him again, jumps to the opposite side, does a flip mid air, slams him yet again, and then, with Ares armor on his legs boosts himself up high in the air and does a pile driver straight down, causing the ground to break even more than it did before… Once the dust settles, One Zero is gone again, and then the victims get back up again, they grab onto Matt, dragging him into the ground… into the abyss…
Matt: Shit! No no no no! I have to win!
He tries to fight them off, but every hand taken out just grabs him again. Matt seems desperate until he’s suddenly teleported out and back onto a building. Matt looks around confused but then turns around and sees Angel.
Angel: I’m still here, idiot.
Matt: Ah… right. Sorry I got too caught up with the fight.
Angel: Well you should keep your mind in there. It’s not over yet.
Suddenly, the building they’re on starts to shake as it sends them high in the air and towards the stratosphere. Matt, desperate, decides to risk it and jumps off while Angel grows her wings to grab Matt and carry him.
Angel: Geez you’re heavy… Can’t you fly in your mind…?
Matt: Well I could, but it seemed to stop once I made contact with the ground…

The city below starts to form into One Zero’s face as arms and hands sprout from the ground. They try to grab Angel as they swipe at her left and right.
Angel: You got a plan?
Matt: I wouldn’t call it a plan, More like a last ditch effort.
Angel: Then do it!
Matt: Alright! Drop me!
Angel doesn’t even hesitate as she lets go of Matt directly on top of One Zero. However, he finally grabs Angel but unfortunately, Matt was already crashing down on One Zero. Matt raises his fist as Ares armor coats his hand and yells out,
“GET OUT OF MY F**KING HEAD!”
The impact of the fist with One Zero caused the entire false universe to break like a glass window as Matt lies in the black void, tired. Angel flies down next to him as she checks the status of the viewing for the others.
Angel: Geez… that last punch completely disabled it. Good job, Matt.
Matt: He’s not dead… I made contact with the ground, not him… He must have fled right before.
Angel: Well… even if he’s gone, he should know well not to mess with your mind again. And nothing is stopping you from waking up, so should we go?
Matt thought about it but he motioned Angel to leave.
Matt: You go ahead. I need to wrap something up.
Angel nods and disappears. Back in the real world, Everyone was waiting impatiently for the news until Angel popped out.
Eren: Aunt! What happened?
Angel: Don’t worry. He just has something to take care of.
Back in his mind, Matt walked in the endless black void until he found him. There Matthew was, standing there, emotionless as ever. He stared at Matt, and he stared back.
Matt: So… I think I understand you now. You’re not just a bottled up personality… You’re the personification of what I see are my flaws. Emotionless, prone to anger, violent, and most of all, childish.
Matthew looks down in shame from being outed like this. But Matt raised out a hand.
Matt: …and that's okay.
Matthew: …what?
Matt: Everyone has their flaws. However, ignoring them just leads to more and more flaws. So I want us to work together. We’re the same person after all. And besides, I think that if only one of us remains, we won’t be ourselves anymore, right?
Matthew looks down but whispers softly.
Matthew: But what if people don’t like us? What if they don’t forgive me for what I did?
Matt: …that's a bridge we’ll cross when we get there. Now let's go see our friends again!

Matthew looked up at the hand and after some hesitation, he shook it. A bright light fills the mind as the two become one. And then… he woke up.
Matt: Agh- geez my head…
Rose: Dad!
Matt turns around and sees Rose tackle him out of the couch, hugging him tightly.
Rose: It’s you! It’s actually you!
She’s crying on his jacket so he carefully grabbed her and placed her on the couch. Violet would have done the same thing, but she was still pregnant so she just went up and hugged him.
Violet: Don’t leave me like that again.
Matt: Oh okay-
Eren was the next to go up to Matt as they dabbed each other up.
Eren: We are so back.
Matt: Hell yeah.
They laughed together as Matt went up to Spark.
Matt: How fast can you get me out of jail if I’m arrested for this?
Spark: 20 hours.
Matt: Sick.
He says, shaking Spark’s hand.
Spark: Good to see you again.
Matt goes up to Mercury and is about to say something, but she just glares at him, causing him to back away and into Fox.
Matt: Oh! Wow I am so sorry for all the souls that went to the underworld because of me at this time…
Fox: It’s fine. Just take a rest. We’ll handle everything for you while you recover.
Matt: Yeah alright… hey uh… send Heather my condolences before you head back.
Fox: …you know about-
Matt: I sort of gained some of his memories when I merged with him.
Fox looked confused, but it sounded too hard to explain for Matt, so he just nodded and teleported off with Angel. Matt clapped his hands and rubbed them together as he turned around to see his team.
Matt: Alright. Let's just cool down and take a break for a bit. We’ll come back together in 7 days. Got it?
Everyone nodded as Matt smiled
Matt: Good.

7 days later.

Matt arrives in the park with Rose… Hm. Where's everyone?
Rose: Dad where is everyone?
Matt: I was just thinking that myself. I guess they’re late as usual.
Suddenly they hear the sound of footsteps approaching as Spark and Mercury arrive.
Spark: *breathing heavily* Sorry I… I didn’t know what to wear so… so I just wore my usual.
Matt: You didn’t need to dress up fancy for today. It’s just a casual photoshoot.
Spark: I know but… come on man!
Matt rolled his eyes as he heard screaming coming from the air. And just like a torpedo, Eren crashes down into the ground next to them.
Eren: Hi guys!
Matt: Eren we’re over here.
Eren: What?
She turns around, revealing she was back to her sleepy self.
Eren: Sorry for the sudden entry… I knew I was going to sleep for a while so I made Mercury rig explosions on my bed…
Matt turns to Mercury, who nods in confirmation.
Matt: That's… Anyways, where’s Heather? Is she alright?
Suddenly a car pulls up next to them as Heather steps out, in all of her glory.
Heather: Hello everyone! I’m here~!
Matt: Heather!
Eren: Heather!
Matt turns to Eren and forcefully turns her around so she’s facing Heather.
Matt: How have you been since the…
Heather: Oh I’ve been just lovely, thanks to you and Eren for saving me from myself.
She laughs happily as Matt and Eren smile. And then they hear the yelling of a young child.
Petals: Father!
The girl runs up to Matt and hugs him as Violet arrives. Spark looks confused on Petals appearance and goes up to Matt.
Spark: Hey uh Matt…? Wasn’t she born recently? Why does she look and act 7?
Matt: Oh well uh… I was visiting Fox in the underworld, and Me and Violet were talking about how hard it was to take care of her and then Medea, in her soul person form or whatever it’s called, went up to Petals and gave her a potion that would age her for a bit. And now she’s 7.
Spark: Hm… sort of rushing the process there, huh?
Matt: Well now she and Rose can get along better.
He says as Petals shows off a new invention to Rose with her looking amazed.
Rose: Wow! You’re a genius!
Petals smiles as she puts on her goggles
Petals: I know! You’re free to keep it!
Rose: REALLY?!
Petals: Of course! You're my sister, after all!
Rose: Yay!
The two sisters hug as Matt glances at Spark
Matt: See?
Spark: Yeah I see it now. Where is Fox anyways?
Fox: Boo.
Matt and Spark jump as Eren laughs at them. Fox had teleported behind them just to spook them out.

Matt: Damn, Fox! Are you trying to give us both a heart attack?
He says laughing. Fox chuckles in response as he adjusts the camera he brought with him.
Fox: Sorry Angel couldn’t show up. She had to do something
Matt: That's fine. Let's just take the photo already! You too PM!
PM, Who was hiding behind Eren, looks shocked to be called out.
Rose: Yeah come on!
PM: But I won’t even show up in the photo-
Matt: Ah who cares, just get in!
PM sighs but smiles as she stands in the middle of Spark and Mercury. Fox sets the camera to a timer and then he runs to the others. And 3… 2.. Rose then jumps into the frame of the camera
Rose: Smile!
