Okay so in greek mythology, there were these gods called the red velvets and they liked red and white chocolate for some reason. And they were hungry one day and decided “Hey let's mess with the mortals”And so they came down from olympus and said “Hey. give us some cookies that are red with white chocolate chip cookies and we’ll give you a new bugatti” The greeks had no idea what that was but did it anyways since they didn’t want to get smited. However they couldn’t make it red so they decided to paint it red with the blood of their enemies (I can’t confirm if I used actual blood in my recipe or not) And the gods were like “Ew, why! Just use food coloring!”
“What the heck is food coloring?”
“Aw dang it we went too far in time. THey don’t even know what a bugatti is. Let's bail.”
And so the gods left, leaving the greeks with the cookies. They tried some and thought “Dang. This is pretty good” And so that's how red velvet cookies are made
