These forms are obviously not what they actually look like. Because when they notice you’ve found them out, their faces split open, like a blooming flower. The inside is very strange. Inside, you can see a thousand tiny orange teeth, a thousand fires ready to burn and consume. The flesh is a bright purple, and their “breath” is a noxious green. It’s almost as pretty as it is terrifying. Their arms grow longer, their legs each split in two and grow thicker, and their outside skin turns pale white like a vampire’s. Three other “limbs” grow out of their back and all of them attach to this weird “sheet” of skin.
Remember earlier when I said the Finders were also called face-stealers? Well here’s how they got that name. I’ve seen it twice. Once on live TV; the second time was when I lost my friend. First, they have to catch you. I’m pretty sure they can’t see very well, if at all, so they mostly rely on their other senses. Usually, people scream. They scream and cry and beg and die. When the Finders move, it is faster than you can see if you don’t focus. They run on their four massive legs, swiping with their long bony arms to knock their targets over or slow them down. Then when they catch what they want.. The Finder grabs its prey, lifts them into the air and.. I’m sorry, it’s just..
Okay, anyways.. The Finder lifts the victim into the air, it raises the “sheet” of skin to the person’s face, covering it and.. I’ve heard the muffled screams that are immediately choked out of the poor person.. I can’t see it, but I can tell something is going down their throats, searching for something as they writhe in pain and fear and horror.. And then it all stops. The body goes limp after a few seconds. Which isn’t long enough for the cause of death to be suffocation or something. Then they drop to the floor, and then they twitch, in a way that is weirdly lifeless.
Now the Finders are everywhere. They steal our bodies and faces. They deceive at every turn, provoke fear whenever they can. They make you watch as they take the life and soul of your best friend, barely ten feet in front of you, and let you escape. Because the kill was satisfying enough. And watching you sprint away excites them. They know you’re full of fear. They know that you can be caught later.
