If you were to go outside right now and go wait at a railroad crossing where a big railroad goes over, you'd be hard press to NOT find one of these on a freight train. The General Electric Evolution Series ES44AC, also known as the 'Gevo,' is the best selling Diesel locomotive in the country, with over 4,000 being made as of 2024. These produce 4,400 hp from a turbocharged Diesel V12, and can go at about 70 mph. While not built for speed, these are incredibly strong engines, and can do just about anything. I personally like these engines, despite others finding them boring with their commonality (quick fact: the engine shown here is a Heritage Unit, and engine painted to resemble an older railroad's paint job, that works on the Norfolk Southern railroad)
