Right now, out loud, say “gift”. Now say “gift” again, but don’t pronounce the t. Every argument on how “GIF” should be pronounced has been conquered. At least the ones relying on grammar rules. As far as I know, doesn’t everybody with a southern accent pronounce gift as gif? If they say that has gif why would the pronunciation change depending on context? Sure you can say the creator pronounces it one way, but he’s WRONG WHY DONT YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND HOW DISGUSTINGLY WEIRD JIF SOUNDS WHEN I SEE MOVING POCTURES IM NOT GOING TO THINK ANBOURT PEANUT BUTTEE WHEN I SEE THE GIF OF BOWSER FLAPPING HIS BUTT CHEEKS I DONT WANT TO THINK OF PEANUT BUTTER
