It could be an ideal government for a small Mars colony

ive seen groups of 5 people who are equals struggle to get anything done
good luck with that

those groups of 5 people are also average intelligence and hold emotion over logic a lot more, an astronaut in general should be a little bit better at logic

incorrect. ive seen it at an invite-only 4H convention where they only let smarter people they think will use what they gain at the convention attend

it was a group presentation contest, and most of the groups were barely capable of agreeing on things. everyone had their own ideas for what they wanted, and resented other ideas that would challenge their own. without organized leadership, groups of humans are extremely ineffective.

makes sense considering humans operate in a social hierarchy, i think putting everyone at exactly the same level is just objectively dysfunctional imho, like imagine someone contributing nothing to society on the same exact level as someone highly skilled like a surgeon who contributes a lot to society

although it’s also interesting to me that social hierarchy not based on physical attributes was really only invented by humans as soon as the agricultural revolution began like 12,000 years ago, and wasn’t something evolved previously

modern america is typically a meritocracy, where people with strong physical or mental attributes rise to the top (more emphasis on mental)

not in any official capacity, but it happens due to how it is designed

Robots would make space exploration safer and cheaper, nasa already sent a few rovers to mars

Humans are the best rovers though, we have the best tools for exploration (our hands)

We can also intuitively adapt to scenarios much more easily than a rover can

And rovers obviously don’t work well underground which is a major focus on Mars

Human Mars exploration is important, but since the gravity and climate is different it may have health effects long term

Also robots can help human astronauts maintain the colony

The ISS has robotic arms and Nasa sent humanoid robots up there

Climate can be solved by living underground.
Gravity can be solved by either enabling quick spaceflight access to a centrifugal space station in orbit or by creating centrifuges below
And the main issue with gravity as seen on the ISS is not that there is lower gravity but that there is basically none, Mars has a decent third of Earth’s which shouldn’t be a significant problem

This is obvious, I can imagine Elon sending Optimus robots there

The ISS currently uses the Canadarm and Canadarm2 to move objects around, I’m not aware of any humanoid robots sent up there

We'll see how long science fiction remains fiction. Also I love how we went from talking about Dawn to talking about space tech🧑‍🚀🌌

That’s at least partially because I’m hyperfixated on space exploration lmao
