Because God doesn't possess people, and Satan does. (I'm religious, thought it should explain my answer) God works through people, and makes miracles, but Satan is a deceiver. They can worship him if they want, I'm not gonna judge them, they're just being led astray

I agree with that except the part about not judging satanists, sure, everyone is a sinner, but that doesn't mean we should ignore something like that. Although I'm not sure there's actually an instance of Satan personally possessing someone. There could be I just don't remember.

Because, in the old testament, for example Sodom and Gomorrah, God just killed everyone himself. Or with the great flood. He wouldn't need to possess someone. However Satan is a fallen angel and thus much much weaker, so it's more realistic for him to possess someone rather than blowing up a city.
