Even though bedrock is probably better for most people I prefer java because
Bedrock reminds me of badly made mobile games
While bedrock's p2p multiplayer is better java has better severs
Mods are much better and more versatile
Although the base game is laggier, modded can run a lot better even with shaders
The aforementioned shaders

Also better redstone (not talking about quazi connectivity i mean the pistons are better)
