Close but not quit. No country called Palestine existed before Israel conquered the land in wars that surrounding Muslim counties started after the UN gave away land that was for the formation of a new Palestine to form Israel instead.
They're now being used a proxy to kill Jews and left to suffer without a real country of their own.
