I'm not even an LOTR fan and I find Rings of Power offensive

It’s pretty bad

That being said, people will find the least valid ways to criticize it, instead of the obvious

The goo of sauron was peak stupidity
Or having him get betrayed so the audience will go "aww poor little sauron"
Bro committed unforgivable acts
Imagine trying to justify Adolf Hitler

Yeah that’s stupid

I’m talking about the people getting angry about the orc children and women, going “oh Tolkien never had that!” As early as the hobbit there were mentions of orc children

Yet I see more criticism of the dumb shit than actual stuff to criticize

Idt thats what they're offended by
I think ppl are more offended by the fact that they made the orc warriors just a bunch of nice dads who were enlisting in the military to provide for their families
The orcs in the books and movies are bloodthirsty and do not care about others
The urrukhai's first words after being created by Saruman was "who do you want me to kill" right after a sword was thrust into his hand right after his creation. The orcs know nothing but murder. Heck, one of the reasons frodo survives in the 3rd movie is bc they start a fight with each other. They are not friendly or protective of others. They are not warriors that bond through hardship. They are tortured miserable and bloodthirsty murderers.

That is true, but Tolkien himself said many times he was very troubled with the fact he wrote a “pure bad” race and struggled to find a balance. He said he wanted to include a good orc to help Frodo and Sam in RoTK but due to pacing issues he had to cut. In the books Faramir says that he somewhat feels sympathy for them, having their own families and just being indoctrinated by Sauron. I feel like there should be a balance between the movies “evil pure bad kill everything” and the RoPs “I’m just a wholesome family man trying to feed my kids”

Actually the orcs were originally elves that got tortured by Morgoth after they didn't leave with the valar bc Morgoth sewed distrust in them. So they weren't protected and he was able to capture them and torture them into being his mindless slaves. That's why they're so miserable and violent. They have been utterly traumatized to the point where they know nothing but violence
They actually used to be a tribe that was very skilled at singing
