Gas Mask Man has three methods.

G.1: Being bitten by a Destroyed Drone has done much to him, but one thing that is staying like that scar are bloodless hallucinations, which start appearing when he's near death. These hallucinations are only around with the intention of inducing panic attacks. There's no idea when to predict when it'll happen, but he eventually will go over the 200 BPM limit, and drop to the floor.

G.2: Like UO, Gas Mask can run for long periods of time at the cost of higher BPM. The highest BPM he can get is 174, so stopping at any point is essentially suicide if nobody is there to help.

G.3: If there's anything true about the horrors of war, it's that anything that you see could be able to pull you back to the battles you fought, and Gas Mask is no exception. Mercenaries don't do this, but being in apocalyptic cities, forests during the winter, or even hearing distant roads will be enough to pull him to a past he wishes to avoid. He will run off, but he eventually does drop, no matter how long he runs or where he goes.

UO has two methods.

U.1: UO is trained for physical activity, at most, his BPM is at 158 at sprinting full force, if he suddenly stops, his heart rate goes up to 175 BPM. Throw in damage, you're looking at a BPM increase of 195. A tackle/grapple/pounce will spike the BPM to 209, which will exceed the 200 limit, and will put him into a panic attack.

U.2: While low blood for UO isn't that big of a deal, being so close to death long enough without any medical treatment is bound to raise the BPM high enough.

Just throw a l4d hunter at bro and he starts having a panic attack

It isn't as simple as that. He's mainly focused on combat, so if he's pinned, he'll unholster his Glock and let the bullets fly through the assailant's body.

He's quite keen in hearing. If he is informed of there being anything nearby that's hostile, he'll go off of what he knows for sure about them.

Hunters, at least as I've heard, are decently quiet, unless they're flying through the air with a pounce or of they just decide to be noisy
But he might hear the hunter screaming mid-pounce before he gets f**king slammed on

He will. And don't forget that he's young, (17) so he's gonna be immediately moving around like a fox that got into a cache of cocaine.

do foxes even feel the effects of narcotics like that?

Also, he has to be both stopped running and pounced on, if it's just pounced on, he'll be able to retaliate.
