-Both were originally normal people/monsters that were brilliant scientists (Nobody was Eric Morden and Gaster...was literally just Gaster)
-They both made a machine (The White Room and The CORE)
-An incident related to the machines fragmented them (Nobody was brought into the White Room and became fragmented, mentally and physically, and Gaster fell into the CORE and was shattered across time and space)
