Back when I was a fun streamer (a while ago,) there was an incident revolving around people spamming random ass vegetables, all of which got upvoted en masse. This angered a ton of people, including iceu, as well as half of the fun stream. People spammed the "You begged for upvotes, now beg for forgiveness" meme in the comments, because they were upset about the fact that their "real memes" were being outcast by a simple vegetable jpeg with the vegetable's name as the top text, and "bottom text" as the bottom text, or nothing at all, leaving just the vegetable JPEG and nothing else. If I remember correctly, this was an action performed by someone from MSMG, but I don't remember who exactly it was that popularized it. The most common of these were lettuce, but I also remember tomato images being used as well. Below is an example of what these looked like.
