The continent of Concordia has been split into drifting islands after the UniTree was attacked and destroyed. After a rift opens, it's up to Mario and Luigi to reconnect Concordia.

Sounds neat

A lot of the characters have their own side stories, like Arc wanting to find his abducted father, or Connie wanting to fulfill her role of Wattanist to make her dead(?) mentor proud

it's so good
mario (as in the character) has an actual personality now
the visuals are just. f**king peak. like literally the best a mario game has ever looked in franchise history
the story is GREAT so far
the characters are amazing, and every single one so far is entirely unique
the battles are fun and snappy
the music is incredible
it's unique and innovative
it's just overall so f**king good. so far it's one of the best mario games i've played

there was this funny ass scene where this guy was building hammers at a comically high speed
teleporting around, slamming tools against shit
yknow, the "quick building" animation trope
except it was happening like that in-universe too
and mario and luigi were just f**king FROZEN in horror watching this man ignore every single one of isaac newton's theories

that's actually pretty funny
