Years ago I watched a complete game from Michael Jordan's rookie year against the Jazz. Hot Rod Hundley said on air during it that he had never seen the refs favor and protect a player the way they were already doing for Jordan. At least four times during the matchup, MJ got the call even though nobody touched him. Not like he needed much help given how good he was most nights. It's weird too how his name and hype alone got him awards he didn't deserve. Such as three years on the All Defense Team after he had already stopped guarding the toughest guard or small forward on the other team.
