The cases of grooming with children can even start of as a seemingly insignificant request. Grooming can be much more than sexual context, but it can be taken in romantic contexts too. The groomer could start off as just your friend, but begin to try to push the child into a relationship subtly. Like starting to say "I love you" randomly, or confessing their love and talking about it publicly repeatedly until the victim starts to think that a relationship with that person might not be so bad.
