Over the history of humanity there have been many religions, but we look back on these past beliefs as silly stories. 3000 years in the future people will look up on modern religions the same way. There are also many religions currently, all believing that the others are wrong. Also, in the history of Christianity, many scientists have said things that, at the time, was considered blasphemy, but is now considered fact by all religions. You could argue that this process would continue, with science disproving more and more. Alternatively, science may discover that there is a god, but it will probably not be exactly what any religion says is exactly what god is.
