None of the countries in South America from where (most) of the border crossers are assumed to be from, are run by secular, socialist regimes, not theocracies. Others who have crosse from Mexico into the US, from other places as China has a repressive government which is hostile to religion. And whatever 'undocumented' coming from other parts of the world (potential terrorists) are not coming to the USA for it's 'religious freedom.' Get educated.

Reasons for immigration "Central Americans (especially since 2018) have been fleeing a series of complex crises including gang violence, poverty, political repression and natural disasters." (Paraphrased). Even before this time it has always been known that the illegals crossing from Mexico into the US are looking for jobs and money. The countries that they are leaving may have more a religious population than the US, but that isn't why they are leaving to come to America.

Countries in Central America have high levels of religiosity. Religion isn't really a cause of the poverty so much as a symptom. When a country crumbles, the people in it tend to turn to religion, but when a country picks itself back up again, the people in it tend to turn AWAY from religion, because, to quote Jasper from Steven Universe, "When you're at the bottom, you'll follow anybody that makes you feel like less of a failure."

Okay, so the premise of your meme is incorrect. There may be a correlation to religiosity and poverty, but correlation does not equal causation. The immigrants are leaving their countries for economic reasons, religion has little or nothing to do with it.

The point is, those refugees and immigrants are leaving MORE religious countries to go to LESS religious countries.
