Look man, beating off is a bad habit that you should try your hardest to mitigate because it can and WILL develop into an addiction and can and WILL destroy you. Even if it couldn't, it's still a bad thing to do and you may keep yourself complacent by telling yourself "its not hurting anyone" or "its just for fun" or "everyone does it" but eventually it will wear down certain aspects of your health and social life. And I think admitting that fact makes you uncomfortable. But it's not beyond you to quit, if you put yourself to it and get support from other people.

It's not brainwashing, it's a genuinely good standard to live by, like "exercise self control" or "don't smoke or drink".

The evils of Christianity [I'm assuming you're talking about the crusades/medieval papacy and their barbaric practices] owe pretty big fault to the wickedness of man.
