Simple answer is that there's mountains of other options to drink. Complicated answer is that if she supported gender surgery so openly, then she would have a hard time appealing to anybody other than her avid voters. And alcohol is not gonna win over private-schooled, devoutly religious people anyway. If I was her, I wouldn't be caught within a mile of somebody drinking.
