Genies are technically already “all powerful”, even if it’s misinterpreted you’d end up still taking the genies place while setting him free of his duties.

Literally by definition they aren’t though, all powerful would mean being able to do literally anything, which genies cannot

You clearly haven’t seen the ending; when Jafar wishes to be more powerful than Genie (all powerful), he ends up becoming a genie himself with his own lamp and restricting his limitations. I don’t make the rules, those were already set in stone. Life ain’t fair, go cry me a river for all I care.

His wish was interpreted as, “I wish to be a genie,” however because of my first wish the genie knows exactly what I want and what I want is literally the ability to do whatever I want however I want with zero limitations, something a genie cannot do.

I’ve seen the movie several times, (it’s one of my all time fav disney movies) and he became a genie because the wish had too much, “gray area,” had he bean more specific he could have easily avoided becoming a genie. His mistake was jumping to make the wish without putting any thought into the wording/details.
