Sympathetic villains are villains where you can understand their motives and what they do, even though they're supposed to be the villain. There's also a chance they do what they do as an ends to a means. this leads to them having a spark of being redeemable

asshole villains are villains who do what they do just because they can, or for some petty reason, with no remorse or any care for another life.

I feel like Tronus is a in between. On one hand, he actually has a reason for his tyranny, he wants to preserve all the races and have complete control to protect them all. However on the other hand, his methods are quite irredeemable.

That’s probably my most annoying villain, because the others are just sympathetic because they care about themselves. CW, meanwhile, does know what he’s doing, and he loves it.
