so the joke is that there is that some rooms (indicated but a red fire warning sign on the door) are full of a gas called firedamp due to a burst pipe
I don't know why anyone would want flammable gas with seemingly no purpose but it can suffocate you if you stay for too long or if you use a lighter you die of combustion
