I'd be so happy if they clutch that, but I have very little hope. | Why is minecraft movie trailer got so much negative comments ? Well, imo : 1. There's too few reference to THE game we all remember, and the references that we see are either poorly done or too far from Minecraft itself (they cooked for the piglins tho). 2. The plot seems REALLY generic. People lauched in a video game, how comes ? It looks just like a generic American commedy show with a known actor and a great title. Nothing else. 3. The textures are just... wrong. Minecraft is known for its unique look, and make it realistic like that looks off. - It's still aimed for a young audience.
- It's still themed around the Minecraft Dungeons lore.
- It's vastly in th range of what WB can do.
- It can still appear to a public that doesn't know minecraft.

But :

- The looks is more appealing (this argument is kinda cheating since it's animated and not live action).
- The plot is more original.
- There is WAYY more Minecraft references.
- It can go for a wider audience.
- The jokes are actually good (imo).
- The characters are well known from the game.
