hello guys and if you're new here WELCOME TO THE INFAMOUS DEL STORYTIMES!! u can click on the tags to go to the other storytimes i've written here. ive been doing this since 2020 which is pretty wild.

so a bit of background information: my grade has a huge gender gap. like im convinced the guys still think girls have cooties. like for some reason they REFUSE to interact with girls unless theyre super hot and interested in dating them. well im neither of those things sooo 💅💅 ur girl decided, lets break the gender gap! i want to make guy friends too.

so i started in on this one guy. hes super nice but SUPER quiet. I barely have heard him talk. my ex friends shipped us in the past behind his back just because we snap, so its kinda awwkard. but the bright side of him being super shy is that he wont blatantly be like "STOP TALKING TO ME 👹". so i started talking to him at the beginning of july over snapchat and we basically started chatting abt everything. turns out he has roblox so we start playing together too! he played sm games with us and it was so so funny.

in august, I decided i'd ask for his number. not in a rizzly way, just bc i wanna talk elsewhere from snap. so i straight up cut to the chase and say "whats ur number" and to soften the blow i then sent an alpha wolf meme right after 💀 THIS GUY DROPS THE DIGITS NO QUESTIONS ASKED NOT EVEN A "sure here it is:______" I also ask to be his friend while we're playing roblox and he actually after a bit of teasing says yes. KEY WORD: FRIEND

so finally school starts, and im like omg!! i should say hi bc, yk, thats what friends do! keep in mind we'd never interacted irl before this. so hes only in one class with me and thats a short sort of study period. so i walk in and sit at a desk that so happens to be right in front of him (not on purpose, it was near my friends) and so the whole class the teacher is doing a presentation 💅💅💅 and i can feel him staring at the back of my head. i know he wants to say hi but hes too shy. so at the end of class i turn around and say "hi ___!!!" and he was dead silent and i think his friends had to prompt him bc this guy goes "....huh?! uhh.. erm...............hi 🤓" WELL THAT SURE SCARED ME OFF I NEVER SAID HI TO HIM AGAIN

so after a lot of awwkard eye contact but no hi in the halls and after a month nonstop of texting (i cant even scroll to the end we're just yapping) AND after telling me he wants to go to my nutcracker which is WILD, we're texting and hes like "yeah i say way more over text than i do irl" and i said "i used to be like that" but then i felt a bit passive aggressive so i said "well i dont talk to you😿 so i guess thats still me" and he said "i guess we should hang out more then" WHAT DID HE MEAN BY MORE?? WE'VE NEVER HUNG OUT 😭 but anyways so i was like okay never back down never WHAT 🗣️ and made plans the next day to hang out at a festival

so the next day comes right and im a bit late and i arrive and he went to this place to chill out and my texts werent going through so i called him 💀 and he picked up so i started being liek "where are you we're here" and then 10 seconds of white noise and suddenly i hear "....hello?" and so i repeat myself and this kid is bouncing down the hill (he has a pep to his step) and i physically JUMP and mind you i have a bunch of friends with me okay. so he doesnt rly talk to me when he arrives even when I say hi and so i decide to talk to HIM but honestly he's not talking hes more trailing behind me as me and my little group walk.

so then my friends go to get food so we're hanging around near the line waiting and im DESPERATELY trying to strike up conversation because this is actually super awkward and out of nowhere this guy who thinks hes rly hot who happens to be his friend pops up and starts laughing and high fiving him and clapping him on the back and i was like OH NO. so i walked over to my friends immediately. that guy prob thought i was being rizzed up so i was pretty scared. so anyways we still talk a bit but then atp im literally trying my best and hes being so dry to the extent my sister who was hanging around noticed. like this is ridiculous. and so finally at the end my parents show upa nd say its time to go and my mom takes a picture of all of us which ended up being rly awwkard but then i was like "oh do u need a ride home" and he was like im good so i was also driving my friend and her sister home so we went to find her sister and as we're all walking to the car we see him SADLY SITTING ON A BENCH and we're all like NOO 😭 so i run up to him and for some reason MY FRIEND HER SISTER AND MY SISTERS COME WITH ME?? so this kid sees FIVE GIRLS charging up to him and IM LEADING THE GROUP and i say "are you sure you dont need a ride? we can take you home if you want!" and he says his parents are picking him up or something but later he texts me saying he just didnt want us driving around because i live in the opposite direction 🥺 thats so sweet

HERES WHEN IT TAKES A TURN 💅💅 so on sunday we're texting all day again as usual but then we're talking and he says a joke and hes like "yeah just messing with u" and i was like "wow" and he was like "whats a relationship without some tomfoolery" RELATIONSHIP? he coudlve said friendship 😭 i dont think he was assumming we're dating, though my sisters thought that he probably thinks that the festival was a date, which i could not be more clear that it WASNT. i think it was more of a what are we and letting me specify. so i said "working my way up to bestie level with this level of tomfoolery" and so suddenly he says "you're up there at bestie level" but then he says "even more possibly" THIS KID THOUGHT HE WAS SLICK WITH IT 😭 AT THAT MOMENT I RACED UPSTAIRS AND HAD A HUGE PANIC ATTACK AND MY SISTERS WERE READY TO CALL AN AMBULANCE

so after two hours i send him a pic of claires bff dolphin necklaces (I JUST WANNA BE PART OF YOUR SYMPHONY 🗣️) and said "US CORE" and i was like would you wear them you can have the pink one and he said "ill take the pink one for our best friend ship" HE WAS TRYING SO HARD I FELT SO BAD HE WAS LIKE FORCING IT

so anyways the next day which is today i wave to him when i see him in school and he said "hi 🧍‍♂️" and so i said hi back so we're actually interacting! and he's been texting me as usual if not more than usual so i dont think he was too shut down on the friendzone thing. but i did catch him staring during lunch and this guy turned his head 90º to look which is pretty wild, but i wont read much into it. I rly hope we can be friends but i dont know how i can hang out with him without him thinking its a date.. idk what to do.
