I guess it does tbh. I always thought the equator does kinda assume that the world is flat, like a map. I do have an old globe that has topographical lumps for mountain ranges. I bought it from an antique store. By looking up some countries and some borders, it must be from the late 1960s/early 1970s. I love that sort of history.
