p.AI.nter kills many people in the hopes that an ally of his (a shopkeep in game) can obtain a special object to free them
said object is your sole purpose for being in the game area

I am actually seeing some parallels, both wanting an object for freedom, but there's differences
Spamton actually goes after his object
p.AI.nter gate keeps it by leading you to traps while his friend tries to get the object
you do end up getting the object upon successfully completing a run, so I assume they fail
and spamton failed as well

the reason he goes after Cory (rename not decided yet) is because he believes Cory has data that needs to be archived, though he can't figure out what it is
between the library/shop interaction and the boss fight, I. E. realized what that data is
