Tails.PRTD

Lore: An unknown entity has escaped from the files of a sega worker's computer... the entity, labeled as PRTD-33.54|2.EXE, has found it's way into a copy of Sonic 2...

Lore 2: PRTD-33.54|2.EXE, or as we like to call it, Pretend, seems to be messing with the game files somehow. we need to reboot the game. the creator has not yet been discovered. we are still investigating the situation...

Lore 3: after 2 days, it seems we have searched through every employee's work, and have found nothing. we have bigger problems than finding the culprit though. we have distracted ourselves from our work, and Pretend has made it a digital form in the game... our characters, seem to be interacting with him...

Lore 4: As we thought that everything was gonna be fine, it seems Pretend was... not as friendly as we thought. turns out, we were right about the thing just wanting to play, but it seems to have gotten bored of the same old games and..... wanted to play a different game...

Lore 5: Pretend wanted to play hide and seek. at first we were okay about the design, a fox that looks just like tails, but it seems to want to be the only fox there. in Pretend's eyes, the fox had to go.

Lore 6: pretend lured the fox into the Chimical Plant Zone, where it pushed our dear fox... into the poison. he was boiled alive. we tried to stop it, but it we were too late. it corrupted the code to where we can't change anything. Sonic 2 is doomed.

Lore 7: as they continued their game of hide and seek, Pretend found Knuckles. he killed him. next was Amy. she was found dead 3 hours after the grusome game. Then finally, Sonic. Sonic, as the hero he was programed to be, discovered what was going on. and so he ran.

Lore 8: Sonic ran and he ran until he thought he was safe. then, he saw Knuckles. but Knuckles looked a bit... off. Sonic, due to his programming, recognized Knuckles as himself, and hugged the one arm, half head Knuckles.

Lore 9: the damaged Knuckles whispered something in his ear. we are certain that he said "run." Sonic turned around, to be faced with Pretend. "It's okay, Sonic. all you have to do is pretend. pretend it's all gonna be okay. pretend that everything is how it should be." those are the words it told our dear Sonic.

Lore 10: pretend killed Sonic before he could do anything. it smilled. we tried to shut down the game, but it was already released onto the Internet. when something is on the internet, it stays on the internet. Pretend, saw it's way out. a way to other games. it wasn't through with it's fun.

Lore 11: Fans complained about how Sonic was blood red, and was lacking a stomach. all we did was give in to our failure to save Sonic 2. they said the game is a nightmare, and is lacking characters, plot, and some claim to see things others don't. it was a mess. Sonic 2, is a deceased hunting ground for an entity known as PRTD.

fun fact: the PRTD stands for pretend. also, i'ma start writing lore for each character at some point. they will be in the comments
