I understand this is confusing to you, but Cheney is a -real- Republican. She is a political and social conservative whose policies are aimed at preserving the republic.
MAGA on the other hand has no ideology to speak of, having usurped the minority party, turning it into a cult of Trump. One week they claim to be against all forms of socialism, the next they're promising not to tax tips or social security checks and that the federal government should pay for IVF.
