huge respect to religious people that dont do this | it pisses me off when discussing the origin of reality with religious people, and when I respond to a question with "i don't know" they think its a GOTCHA and say its proof of their god; its okay to not know things. its arrogant to claim to have all the answers. just because i'm not sure how exactly the universe was created however many billion years it was before my birth, doesn't mean your fantasy explanation holds more merit. | image tagged in h | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

both God and the Big Bang are silly can we just accept the fact that we are all in a TV show made by an advanced alien civilization

can we accept that we weren't f**king there for the creation of reality and can only make educated guesses as to its origins. instead of, yknow, picking an idea and getting unreasonably attached to it to the point where no logic would dissuade you from something you think to be fact?

talking to both religion, and way overzealous atheists

I could never know if it wasn't for the Bible
Our human brains cannot comprehend God's reasons for what he does

Idk man sounds like a really convenient excuse to me, no offense

Really just seems to me like something designed to keep people from asking questions

Well, and debating religious stuff isn't really my specialty, but I do have hope that God does know what his plans for all of us are
And "religious" people who claim idk is winning an argument is just stupidity, there 8s no "winning" an argument, that's just an end created by people with soft egos, the goal of argumentation is to learn from and about your opponents, not personal glory

It's one of the reasons I don't just brag constantly to everyone here how good I am with debate, that's just not the point of what I do

i don't claim to be good at debate, honestly i tend to shut down after long enough i think

i just tend to enjoy it, to have these deeper conversations.
Idk, maybe its the only form of intimacy i have left

Oh I can relate to that

I have significant trouble when dealing with younger children due to this innate desire to just sit down and talk about really deep subjects, and yeah, my brain will also shut down, mainly if too many things are happening, ADHD tends to cause executive functioning issues leading to stress and allat, so yeah, I feel that

UGHH i absolutely relate to the ADHD thing.

yeah i really like being able to just sit down with a person and talk like that, unfortunately few people seem as interested in it

Especially nowadays, it's so hard to find people who are well versed in the fields of common sense, logic, reason, things like that, although it does boost gratification when you actually do find that kind of person

Exactly. Its hard to get good at actual logical discussion when you can't find those willing to learn the same
0 ups, 5mo
Righhht though
Thankfully I went through school with a number of like minder individuals, and, believe it or not, a lot of our Middle schoolers could outthink so many people nowadays, society has just normalized stupidity smh

And
I don't know is about the best thing you can say
It means your willing to learn, and I find great importance in that matter
0 ups, 5mo
learning, is very important, I agree

the internet is probably the only resource i've had to try and co0me close to logical discussion.

...which is a lot sadder to say than it should be
