One my biggest complaints about my Grandma is that sometimes I won't be allowed to eat food, that we've had for 5 months, because it's for an alleged "dinner", that she's probably gonna cook in 3 months. At that point if you're gonna buy food like 6+ months in advance, to the dinner, then just let me eat and replace it when the time for the dinner comes. I would understand if she said about Turkey is Thanksgiving or Shrimp of Christmas, but is just has happened with small things, such as cranberries, mashed potatoes, frozen french fries, strawberries, or using a topping like syrup desserts or sugar cream on my toast or ice cream.
