It just says that God is alive, and is of the living. He is one, the only god. As for the afterlife part you mentioned, there's either heaven or hell. Currently, all the dead people are, well, "sleeping", but everyone will raise from the dead at the end of times. Some will be rewarded, others will be given eternal punishment
