Since the advent of consumer driven medicine there has been an explosion of drugs and treatments for medical conditions that are for the most part non-lethal, such as erectile dysfunction, contraception, balding, hair loss, nasal allergy relief, topical skin conditions; add on drugs to counter-act side effects of psycho-active drugs. The remedies provided by these drugs may be delivered and produce the desired effect, but by and large they are not to save lives or cure actual 'disease'. As opposed to "orphan drugs" .
