No, that's not how that works. A "cure" for cancer would mean to stop cells from mutating, which is impossible in practice. Why do people think everything is going against them?

Because the pharmaceutical companies are profit-driven like any other industry. Since the advent of consumer driven medicine there has been an explosion of drugs and treatments for medical conditions that are for the most part non-lethal, such as erectile dysfunction, contraception, balding, hair loss, nasal allergy relief, topical skin conditions; add on drugs to counter-act side effects of psycho-active drugs. The remedies provided by these drugs may be delivered and produce the desired effect, but by and large they are not to save lives or cure actual 'disease'. As opposed to "orphan drugs" .

Why haven't they tried to invent some kind of vaccine for it. It "worked" for COVID (sort of). . .

Because cancer is not a sickness like any other. Instead, it is the rapid multiplication of cells with a damaged DNA.

You would think that if the Companies would have put at least half the money they invest in advertising and pushing these other drugs they would have come much further than they are now.

That's just capitalism. Besides, here in Germany, medicine has to actually work in order to be approved for sale, and our health care system is better anyway.

The American people stopped trusting the Government right after Vietnam.

Meanwhile here in Germany, we can actually choose a government that doesn't rely on telling big corporations big lies to stay afloat. Which is an issue both American parties have. Even the left is approaching conservative ideals.
