We did a crazy ass bonfire once up on my property in our fire pit by the lake
I was so disappointed when we had to put it out because it was time to sleep (it was like 10PM)-

We have yearly massive bonfires at my grandmother's house half the size of the yard

Plus it's a cottage on that property too
