Lets cover alphabet lore first
Those are letters,which are too small to be able to breed with em,and they do not have private parts.
Now,the sherlock characters.
May not be real,but are portrayed by real people.
All are humans,which have private parts so you CAN breed with them.
I may not be the oldest and wisest here but i have common sense.
Anyways the conclusion:
Breeding genius humans doesnt even come as close to being as bad to wanting to breed letters.
