fun toadette fact: as early as the 1600s-1700s, there were little to no known left-handed people. but as the centuries went on, the number of left-handed people skyrocketed significantly. believe it or not, this is not actually because more people suddenly became left-handed over time, but rather because left-handed people have always existed since the beginning, but the left-handed people back in the older days were beaten mercilessly into identifying as right-handed, and the generational cycle of handedness conversion continued for a while. however, over the centuries, restrictions were lifted and being left-handed became more socially acceptable which allowed more people to safely come out as left-handed and be part of the updated statistics
