a few reasons why i don’t want kids
-the idea of something growing inside of me sounds utterly terrifying, even if it’s basic biology
-i have a chance of dying during labor, and i don’t want to take the risk
-postpartum depression is a thing, and i’d rather not risk that either
-their cute baby phase is only temporary after all, and i’d rather not spend the next 18 or so years raising another thinking feeling individual especially due to the fear of not being able to maintain the healthy balance of disciplining my child and understanding and catering to their individual needs
-i don’t want to have to pay extra expenses like that of childcare or, when the time eventually comes, their college tuition fees
-why should i raise a child when i have better things to do?
-as i was growing up, my mom would make me help her around the house as well as with some miscellaneous stuff that shouldn’t even concern me, and it would make me not want to do any household chores since i was still technically doing it for her rather than for myself. i’d rather do all that stuff myself than live with the guilt of making my kids help me when they themselves have better things to do
-as the saying goes, it’s better to regret being alone than to regret not being alone. the same applies to having children too
-did my child really ask to be born, or at least born in a certain way to a certain family?
-what if my child ends up being a sociopath/psychopath and thus harder to understand and discipline?
