If George Orwell was alive now, he'd say we're attempting to create Big Brother using AI.
At a practical level, our primitive AI is useful for little more than pattern recognition. Other than that, it regurgitates garbage.
But he'd be right anyway. Some people out there are so crazy and so stupid that they're creating AI to be the ultimate political fact-checker. In other words, Big Brother.
