Pet, can I ask you a couple questions for my own benefit. Just trying to tap into the knowledge of today’s young? What percentage of the world’s oxygen is produced by the ocean? What percentage of the earths atmosphere is made up of carbon? We are told we need to reduce carbon, so this is an important starting point. And what percentage of the earths oxygen comes from the Amazon Rain Forest often referred to as “the lungs of the earth”? These are scientific questions, so if you could answer before looking the answers up. Interested in what is being taught, thanks.

Oh, I believe I knew this at one point in time. I'm a bit forgetful recently, but I do remember that quite a lot of oxygen is produced by the rainforest. I do not blame education for me not knowing, but my general interest and knowledge lies in technology and art. Mostly things they don't teach in school. What I do know is that algae do a lot, and I've heard and confirmed at one point that they produce around a third of the atmosphere's oxygen, though I am unsure. I tend to forget things I do not frequently recall.

Well, approximately 88% of the world’s oxygen comes from the ocean. The Amazon rainforest is a negative producer of oxygen. It makes a tremendous amount of oxygen. However there is so much wildlife inhabiting there, that it consumes it all plus more. Carbon dioxide is only.04% of the atmosphere. Not much at all.

Though carbon dioxide does still impact the climate in a negative way.
