the general theory now is that most the dinosaurs were killed off by extreme climate change and continental drift and a whole lot of lava long before the asteroid hit

didn’t the asteroid block out the sun cuz of the ash and start an ice age?

yes, the asteroid happened
but the dinosaurs died out before it
